Cantus Firmus Choir
The choir is made up of singers from churches in the Colchester area, and meets on an occasional basis to provide music for worship events.
The choir has performed at a number of events, including the inter-church production of Sharers in the Promise, an advent production entitled Hope in Dark Places, and the launch concert of John Pantry’s God of the Empty Space. In November 2010 the choir took part in Within Reach, an Advent service for Colchester. On Good Friday 2011 the choir provided the music for Treasures of Darkness, a reflection in words, music and drama at the Mercury Theatre, Colchester. The choir has also sung at events in Ipswich, Harwich and Bradwell-on-Sea.
The choir is directed by Richard Hubbard, a local music teacher and Lecturer in Music and Worship at London School of Theology. He has many years’ experience in choral directing.
Rehearsals are relaxed and friendly, and include time for coffee and a chat. Why not find out more about joining the choir?
