As with everyone else, we have had to put our plans on hold due to Covid19.

We are following the government's guidelines on singing, and as soon as it is safe and legal for us to do so, we will resume rehearsal and events.

Here are some of the things we hope to be doing in 2021:

What next for our choirs?

Prom Praise

Royal Albert Hall

Cantus Firmus was preparing a 90-voice choir to form part of the Gathered Choir for the 2020 Prom Praise, with the 100-strong All Souls Orchestra. If this goes ahead in 2021, we hope to be part of it.

A Pilgrimage of Song

Walking a route connecting between churches, and singing a service at each.

We had planned two routes for 2020, linking villages outside Bury St Edmunds with St Edmundsbury Cathedral, as part of the Abbey1000 celebrations to mark the founding of the Abbey of St Edmund. We hope these can go ahead in 2021.

Sing 1000

A vibrant journey through 1000 years of church music, from plainsong to Hillsong!

This was also due to form part of the Abbey1000 celebrations. If this gets rebranded Abbey 1001, we will hope to go ahead with it as Sing1001.

Come and Sing

A one-day singing event ending with an informal concert.

Watch here for news on when we can resume these events.
